Things Jesus Never Said: If the World Hates You, Remember It Hated Me First...Until I modernized to get with the times and changed all my teachings so they would be easier to follow, and then pretty much everyone liked me again.
Jesus says that the world only loves
its own. "If you were of the world, the world would love its
own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of
the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:19 WEB)
Rather than change, Jesus says to stand
out, "You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost
its flavor, what will it be salted with? It is then good for nothing,
but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men. You are the
light of the world. A city set on a hill can't be hid." (Matthew
5:13-14 WEB)
